TORONTO \u2013 April 27, 2026<\/strong> \u2013 A shareholder proposal requesting stronger disclosure on greenhouse gas emission reduction strategies will go to a vote at Lundin Mining Corporation\u2019s annual general meeting on May 7, as investors signal growing expectations for Canadian mining companies to keep pace with peers on climate competitiveness.<\/p>\n

SHARE, on behalf of our clients Mississaugas of the New Credit First Nation Community Trust<\/span>, filed the proposal<\/a> after engagement with the company. It calls on Lundin Mining to disclose a comprehensive emissions reduction strategy that covers all material emissions, including those across its value chain.<\/p>\n

\u201cCanadian mining companies are committed to make progress on addressing supply chain emissions, and investors expect this momentum to continue,\u201d said Amanda Carr, Associate Director of Climate Advocacy at SHARE. \u201cThe proposal at Lundin Mining reflects a desire to see the company keep pace with peers and remain competitive as climate considerations increasingly shape investment decisions and market access of minerals for the energy transition.\u201d<\/p>\n

Value chain, or Scope 3, emissions typically represent approximately 75 per cent of a mining company\u2019s total greenhouse gas emissions and can reach as much as 95 per cent depending on commodity mix, making them a growing focus for investors seeking systematic approaches to risk and wanting to invest in companies positioned for the future.<\/p>\n

This proxy season, investors represented by SHARE have engaged six Canadian mining companies on addressing material value chain emissions: Barrick Mining, Kinross Gold, Hudbay Minerals, B2Gold, First Quantum Minerals and Lundin Mining.
